Not a hidden place, but a hidden time... I went to the Charles Bridge before 8:00 Sunday morning. It was so quiet. I could hear a flutist playing in the entry gate almost clear to the other side of the bridge. I could hear the rush of the Vltava. It was cloudy, but the morning light was so beautiful.
Being on the bridge at that hour gave me a wonderful feeling of peace.
I got some interesting photos - there is one posted on my trip blog "DK Europe 2006". More to come when the web site is ready...
I would like to recommend to everyone a unique experience that is a boat trip with live jazz music on Jazzboat. The cruise duration is 2,5h so you can have dinner on the boat and you can enjoy the atmosphere of illuminated Prague and good music. Warmly recommended also for romantic couples in love :)

Sarka guide recommends: the hidden place - Monastery Brevnov.
An old monastery established in 993 by the Czech Prince Borivoj ll. and st. Adalbert. Today´s appearance of the premises including St. Margaret church, convent and prelate house from 1708 - 1745 (built by K. I. Dienzenhofer) represents the high baroque style at its best form. Very tranquill hideaway with the gardens and good local rustical restaurant.
25 minutes from the cenre by tram n. 22, stop "Brevnovsky Klaster". More info at: http://www.brevnov.cz/
In Prague you'll find many hidden places. All you need to do is get off the beaten path. For example, if you venture a block off of Wenceslas Square in any direction, you'll find numerous places to enjoy. Our first day exploring the city we found a nice little pub below the Charles bridge on the castle side. It was a nice, quiet place to sit and have a snack while we decided where we wanted to go next. What a great spot to just sit and absorb it all in...
Not so hidden, but perhaps not as famous as the Charles Bridge... Go to the bottom of Petrin hill and seek out the "Monument to Victims of Communism Who Survived". We found this multiple sculpture monument to be artistically powerful and evocative.
